Haas will end its partnership with Ford after the 2025 season.
Haas switched to Ford in the 2017 season, after partnering with Chevrolet in the past as Haas CNC Racing, a team Gene Haas founded in 2002. In 2009, he partnered with Tony Stewart to form Stewart-Haas Racing, which went on to win the 2011 and 2014 NASCAR Cup Series championships.Now, as a result of the new partnership, the team will collaborate with Hendrick Motorsports to purchase engines for both series. NASCAR team owner Gene Haas announced that he was entering Formula 1 in April 2014, to become the first American team since namesake Carl Haas’s Lola operation competed in 1985 and 1986. With Günther Steiner hired as Team Principal, a chassis was commissioned from Dallara and, crucially, Haas signed a technical agreement with Ferrari.That Haas were worthy newcomers was confirmed by Romain Grosjean scoring points in three of the first four races of 2016. Haas-Ferrari eventually finished a creditable eighth in its debut F1 campaign and repeated that performance in 2017. Kevin Magnussen qualified fifth in Australia at the start of 2018 and both cars finished in the top five in Austria.Magnussen returned in 2022 following the termination of Mazepin’s contract, delivering an immediate impact with a points finish in Bahrain and a maiden pole position in the Sao Paulo sprint.
